SPRING MYTH smashed as latest research could spell disaster for Australian Sellers
In findings sure to send panic waves to all potential vendors in the lead up to the Spring season, research confirms that during the month of Spring only 25.4 per cent of all residential sales occur. Once thought of as the perfect time to sell houses on the Sunshine Coast new research by RP Data reveals that the Spring season has gone off the boil.
Autumn is the best time for selling property in Australia attracting 26.6 per cent of all sales. Nationally over the last 10 years, March accounted for circa 9.3 per cent of all residential dwelling transactions.
Local Real Estate Professional Bridget Kraft from New Homes Only is surprised by these findings. "People have literally bet their houses on the Spring period being the prime time for selling all over the Sunshine Coast. This new research will certainly send some sellers into a spin, that's for sure". The research reveals: that 25.3 per cent of sales occur in Winter and 22.7 per cent of sales occur during Summer. March is the busiest month for house and unit sales ! There is a ramping up in listings each year from August to November but the increase in listings is not matched in sales activity.
But there is still hope. Bridget Kraft says" There are always buyers out there for well presented properties. If Sunshine Coast home owners are going to sell through the coming Spring period, there are definitely some strategies we can employ to boost their chances to attract the right buyer for their home." She said. "It's not time to panic just yet."
And for the Buyers in the market place this Spring season definitely turns the tables and offers a great choice of properties and opportunities.
